Scientists from the Netherlands made a very interesting discovery: they were able to explain the reason of constant overeating in humans. It is known that some people almost always can not control the use of food, and therefore complain of overeating and heaviness in the stomach. Experts from Amsterdam claim that in the brain of each of us there is a chemical that is a stimulant of desire to eat.
Surprisingly, this substance is able to act even when a person is already full of food. And this chemical is called dopamine. As soon as the level of it becomes high, a person has a strong desire to eat, while he can be quite aware of, that the hunger is not strong enough to satisfy it immediately. Dopamine, according to scientists, has almost the same effect on all people and does not depend on gender and age.
These studies should help in dietetics as any diet becomes ineffective if there is a high concentration of dopamine in the human brain.
