General characteristics of the diet №9

Table 9 - a diet with a moderately reduced caloric content by reducing digestible carbohydrates and animal fats. The number of proteins is not limited.

Sugar and sugar-containing products are excluded. For sweet dishes, you can use xylitol or sorbitol, which are taken into account in the calorie diet. Also in a strictly limited number you can use honey.

Products are best cooked, baked or steamed. Sometimes you can simmer, but you can not fry dishes.

Fruits and berries

Apricots, watermelon, grapefruit, pears, nectarines, peaches, plums and apples are allowed. From berries it is recommended to use cranberries, blackberries, raspberries, currants and cherry.

Forbidden: pineapples, mango, bananas, melon, grapes.

Vegetables

Vegetables containing less than 5% carbohydrates are Preferred: pumpkin, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, cabbage, radish, cucumbers and salad. Potatoes can be eaten taking into account the norm of carbohydrates.

Forbidden: carrot and beet, and also all salty and pickled vegetables.

Cereals and porridge

Buckwheat (kernel), oatmeal, barley, millet, barley and corn grits are recommended.

Banned: semolina and ground rice.

Bakery products

Fish

Prohibited: fatty fish species, canned in oil.

Eggs

Oils and fats

A limited amount of butter can be consumed, olive, corn and sunflower.

Diet №9 was developed by honored scientist of the RSFSR Mikhail Pevzner. For almost 100 years of its existence, it has proved its effectiveness more than once.
