The high level of rice consumption explains the low incidence of some cancers in Asia, including colon, breast and prostate cancer. Soybeans also contain protease inhibitors. Studies have shown that consuming one Cup per day of miso soup reduces the risk of stomach cancer by almost a third.
Sea vegetables are also part of the Japanese diet, and they seem to have anti-cancer properties.
Eastern green tea has anti-mutagenic properties and reduces the risk of stomach cancer among those who drink it regularly.
Atherosclerosis: regular consumption of soy products is very good for health, including lowering blood cholesterol and reducing the risk of atherosclerosis.
